Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 17, 2026
Dossier ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Dossier Chrome extension and the builddossier.com service. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
- Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture to create your account.
- LinkedIn profile data: When you use the extension on a LinkedIn profile, we extract publicly visible information (name, title, company) from the page you are viewing to generate a research dossier. We do not access your LinkedIn credentials or private messages.
- Google Calendar data: If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, we access your calendar in read-only mode to identify upcoming meetings and attendee information. We only read meeting times and attendee emails — we do not modify your calendar.
- Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
- Usage data: We collect anonymous usage analytics (features used, dossier count) to improve the product.
How We Use Your Information
- To generate research dossiers based on publicly available information.
- To identify upcoming meetings and prepare dossiers for meeting attendees (if calendar is connected).
- To manage your account and subscription.
- To improve and maintain the service.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (AWS). Dossier results are cached locally in your browser's extension storage and on our servers for your convenience. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers: Stripe (payments), Google (authentication, calendar), and AI providers (to generate research content).
- Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. You can disconnect Google Calendar access from within the extension. You can uninstall the extension to stop all data collection.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Dossier's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the extension or email.
